Al Jazeera is one of the largest and most prominent Arab News Networks in the Middle East and around the globe. Based in Doha, Al Jazeera has come to the forefront of the Arab media world since its inception in 1996 and has been characterized by its dedication to providing accurate and unbiased news. In 1999 Al Jazeera began full time 24 hour news broadcasting, which by 2000 resulted in it being the most watched television channel in the Arab world. Al Jazeera remains committed to covering breaking news stories by putting reporters and cameras on the ground of as many events of breaking news in the Middle East as possible.

In 2006, Al Jazeera began airing Al Jazeera English, a sister channel that is the first English language news channel of its kind based in the Middle East. Al Jazeera English currently has 3 broadcast centers including one in Doha, London, and Washington, D.C. Al Jazeera continues to be the leading television news provider in Qatar and is expanding its services to different countries in order to serve various populations. As one of the founding members of USQBC, Al Jazeera seeks to utilize this unique partnership to expand its global reach and continually provide reliable news services throughout the world.

 

Alfardan is one of Qatar’s most prestigious holding groups and its success has grown along with Qatar’s rapid and historic growth. The family-run business was established over 50 years ago by Hussain Alfardan and has grown and diversified extensively since its inception. With operations in a wide range of sectors including hospitality, automobiles, jewelry, marine services, investments, real estate and more, Alfardan specializes in luxury products and services and delivers some of the world’s most-recognizable brands to the Qatari market.

The Alfardan Group works with a variety of international corporations and joins the Council looking to increase its contacts and operations in the United States.

 

Chevron is an American multinational energy corporation and one of the world's six "supermajor" oil companies. Headquartered in San Ramon, California, and active in more than 180 countries, it is engaged in every aspect of the oil, gas, and geothermal energy industries, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transport; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation. For the past five years, Chevron has been continuously ranked as one of America's 5 largest corporations by Fortune 500.  In 2011 it was named the 16th largest public company in the world by Forbes Global 2000. The company has a worldwide marketing network in 84 countries with approximately 24,000 retail sites, including those of affiliate companies.

The Chevron Europe, Eurasia and Middle East Exploration and Production (CEEMEEP) operating company is active in 13 countries and headquartered in London, positioning Chevron at the heart of the region's business and commercial center and enabling effective support for its three strategic business units (SBUs). By joining the USQBC, Chevron aims to increase their operations in the State of Qatar as well as other areas in the Middle East.

 

ConocoPhillips is the third-largest integrated energy company in the United States, based on market capitalization and oil and natural gas reserves.  It is the fourth-largest refiner and the sixth-largest reserves holder of nongovernment-controlled companies. ConocoPhillips is known worldwide for its technological expertise in reservoir management and exploration, 3-D Seismic technology, high-grade petroleum coke upgrading and sulfur removal.
In 2003, ConocoPhillips and Qatar Petroleum signed a Heads of Agreement for the development of Qatargas 3, a large-scale LNG project in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar. ConocoPhillips also participates in the chemical sector through its 50 percent ownership in Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC (CPChem), a joint venture with Chevron Corporation. By joining the USQBC, Chevron aims to increase their operations in the State of Qatar as well as the GCC region at large.

 

ExxonMobil (Exxon) is a manufacturer and marketer of commodity petrochemicals, including olefins, aromatics, polyethylene and polypropylene plastics and a range of specialty products. The Corporation has many divisions and hundreds of affiliates with names that include ExxonMobil, Exxon, Esso or Mobil. Divisions and affiliated companies of ExxonMobil operate or market products in the United States and other countries of the world. Their principal business is energy, involving exploration for, and production of, crude oil and natural gas, manufacture of petroleum products and transportation and sale of crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products. On June 25, 2010, it acquired XTO Energy Inc. by merging a wholly owned subsidiary of ExxonMobil with and into XTO. In June 2011, the Company acquired Phillips Resources.

ExxonMobil Qatar Inc, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, enjoys an association with the State of Qatar dating back several decades. In recent years, the partnership between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil has delivered results that were hardly conceivable just a decade ago. Innovative development and the application of new technology have enabled cost-effective commercialization of new gas supplies to a growing world market. By joining the US Qatar Business Council, ExxonMobil seeks insight into the oil and gas market in Qatar as well as the Middle East at large. 

 

Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) is a US-based oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the United States, the Middle East, North Africa, and South America. Oxy is the largest oil producer in Texas and the largest natural gas producer and second-largest oil producer in California, with additional operations in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Oxy is the fourth-largest U.S. oil and gas company, based on equity market capitalization of $47 billion, with more than 9,000 employees. As of 2010, the company has approximately 30,000 employees and contractors worldwide. Occidental’s oil and gas operations are focused in three core areas, the United States, the Middle East/North Africa, and South America.

Occidental’s Middle East and North Africa operations accounted for 35% of its worldwide production in 2009, producing approximately 254,000 barrels of oil equivalent. The region also holds 29 percent of the company’s proved reserves. In the Middle East, Occidental has operations in Libya, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq and Yemen. Oxy is the second-largest oil producer in Oman. In Qatar, it is a partner in the giant Dolphin natural gas project, which delivers gas to Oman and the United Arab Emirates.  By joining the USQBC, Occidental seeks opportunities to expand their services to the global market.

 

Qatar Airways is the flag carrier airlines of the State of Qatar. Headquartered in Doha, Qatar Airways provides air transportation that links over 100 international destinations through the use of its fleet of over 96 aircrafts. Founded in 1993 and owned by the Qatari Royal Family, Qatar Airways began operations in January 1994 and since then has transitioned to new ownership while the State of Qatar maintains a 50% stake in ownership, while private investors own the remainder. In 2003 Qatar Airways became the first airline in the world to pass IATA’s most strict IOTA Safety Audit, displaying their dedication to the safety of their customers.

The airline is internationally renowned for it’s exceptional service and hospitality and is one of the seven airlines awarded the “5-Star” rating, and was selected to be the official air carrier of the 2006 Asian Games held in Doha. QA was also recognized as the best Cabin Crew in the Middle East for seven consecutive years at the Skytrax Airline Awards. Qatar Airways has proven itself to be one of the fastest growing airlines and continues to expand its current services to new destinations across the globe. Currently Qatar Airways has 19,000 employees but under the leadership of CEO Akbar Al-Baker plans to expand this number in the future by over 50% by the year 2014.

As a founding member of the US-Qatar Business Council, Qatar Airways utilizes this unique partnership to maintain strong ties to the United States as well as to foster and expand it’s operations in the United States. By the end of 2013 Qatar Airways plans to expand its services in order to serve over 120 destinations. The expansion includes many key business and leisure destinations within the United States and other countries.

 

QATARI DIAR Wholly owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, QATARI DIAR Real Estate Investment Company was established in December 2005 to support Qatar’s growing economy and to co-ordinate the country’s real estate development priorities. QATARI DIAR is currently developing or planning 49 projects in 29 countries around the world.

Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned petroleum company that operates all oil and gas activities in Qatar, including exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage.. QP’s operations are closely linked with state planning agencies, regulatory authorities, and policymaking bodies. Together, revenues from oil and natural gas amount to 60% of the country’s GDP. Currently it is the third largest oil company in the world by oil and gas reserves.

QP operates Qatar’s oil pipeline network, which transports supplies from oil fields to the country’s lone refinery and export terminals. Qatar Petroleum is part of the Dolphin Gas Project, which connects the natural gas networks of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar with the first cross-border natural gas pipeline in the Persian Gulf region. By joining the US Qatar Business Council Qatar Petroleum seeks to expand their services to the growing global market.

 

RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is one of the most successful global energy suppliers in the world. RasGas oversees and manages all the operations associated with seven LNG trains, two sales gas production facilities, helium production facilities, as well as major shipping contracts and global commercial partnerships.

The Company has developed world-class offshore and onshore facilities for the extraction processing and storage of gas from Qatar's North Field, the primary end-products being LNG for overseas export, for which it has a total production capacity of approximately 37 million tonnes per annum and sales gas for the local Qatar market with a total production capacity of approximately 2,000 standard cubic feet per day. RasGas is currently adding to its production capacity by building two new facilities - the Ras laffan Helium Project, which is designed to produce approximately 17.3 tonnes per day of pure helium, and the Barzan Project which is designed to supply approximately 1.4 billion standard cubic feet of sales gas per day to the local Qatari market, as well as supply ethane to the local petrochemicals industries and produce liquid hydrocarbons for sale in the local and international markets. 

 

Tanween– an international developer, investment partner and development management consultant with offices in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, the UAE, and the US – focuses on the areas of real estate investment and development, construction, and project and asset management. AART’s recorded setting performances has been the result of an experienced team and devoted owner. Sheikh Khalid is heavily involved in promoting motor sports in the State of Qatar and abroad. Founded in 2009, the team has won two consecutive National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Full Throttle Top Fuel championships under His Excellency’s direction.

 

The Al-Faisal Holding Group is multi-million dollar enterprise that conducts an extensive range of business activities.With a vast international presence and with established partnerships that span the globe, the Group is one of Qatar’s premier business institutions. Raytheon Company was founded in Cambridge, Mass., as the American Appliance Company in 1922, a pivotal time in American history. The first decade of modernism, the 1920s saw the advent of automobiles, radios and refrigerators. The electrical industry was extending power lines across the United States, and telephones were linking every hamlet and home.
