Market Research Manager:

Objectives & Responsibilities:


The Market Research Manager will investigate, evaluate, and research market opportunities for USQBC members. The Market Research Manager is responsible for providing relevant and up-to-date information about various aspects of business development and market information for international companies. The Market Research Manager will also be responsible for distilling information and developing ideas for how a company should approach the U.S. and Qatari markets, presenting analyses and findings to USQBC senior management. The Market Research Manager will communicate information about foreign business investments, opportunities, and competitive market players.


Most of the work of the Market Research Manager will be researching the Qatari and US markets and making researched-based predications on the viability of these markets. S/He will deliver risk and business analyses to USQBC clients. After completing research on specific topics, s/he will propose recommendations to the company based on the research plus the practical experience of USQBC staff.


The Market Research Manager should be able to discuss business practices and legal implications of owning a business in the US and Qatar. The Market Research Manager may work with companies that are already established in international markets or with companies that are planning initial international expansions or investments. S/He will assess a company’s product line and provide recommendations for competitive exports. S/He will identify foreign customers, assist with local registrations and regulatory compliances, and help with setting up deals with distributors. S/He will also advise on local regulations, advise on product adaptation, and help design market entry strategies


Skills & Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful marketing/business development experiences within a variety of industries that are concentrated in new business development within a fast-paced and high-growth environment.
S/He should possess a strong business management or administration background as well as awareness of foreign policies, business regulations, and political developments (Qatar preferred) that may affect foreign businesses. The candidate must have excellent communication and research skills.
• Demonstrated performance with extensive experience in analysis and development of new business and/or new product development & marketing experience in a service sector. International experience preferred.
• Consulting experience working directly with senior management and C-Level executives
• Knowledge of basic business practices, including company finance and structures
• Familiarity with international trade and mechanics of exporting.
• Preferred: In-depth understanding of issues affecting Qatar economy and business.
• Advanced internet research skills to produce high-quality market research and company due diligence.
• Strong skills in project management, strategic planning, problem-solving, and multi-tasking.
• Advanced level of business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• Ability to network and cultivate strong business relationships
• Ability to work positively and effectively with internal and external professionals, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility
• Commitment to teamwork and continuous self-improvement
• Proficient & computer savvy; Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of Salesforce system is an advantage.
• BS/BA degree required.
Compensation and Benefits:
• The Council offers a wide range of benefits to its employees, including a full health insurance plan, dental, and Vision, with 100% paid by the Council. (For most approved plans)
• The Council provides a 100% Council paid Life insurance policy, STD, and LTD.
• The Council will grant 21 paid holidays each year, that include most federal holidays, Thanksgiving and the Day after Thanksgiving, and Week of Christmas to New Year’s (December 24- January 01)
• The Council also provides a generous paid vacation to all employees


The Salary range for this position is between $38000-$50000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Communications Intern

Research Intern

These positions at the Council have flexible scheduling, valuable responsibilities, and numerous opportunities that include attending high-level networking events and conferences in Washington, DC.

QUALIFICATIONS: College or graduate students. Interest or experience in the GCC/Qatar strongly preferred. Position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and background supportive of international business/relations work. 


Preferences for:
Communications (writing samples must be submitted) – Excellent writing skills (University newspaper, publications, etc), experience with social media, ability to effectively communicate with C-suite individuals. 

Research – Ability to compose original content for research purposes on behalf of the Council. Topics will include International Relations/Business, Government and International Trade. Knowledge of GCC is essential. Knowledge of Qatar preferred.

Arabic speaking candidates are encouraged to apply.
Strong organizational and writing skills are essential for all positions.
Database experience and/or research experience is preferred.
Willing to work minimum 35 hrs per week for 10 weeks 

The applicant should be able to work independently and be able to complete tasks single-handedly, while simultaneously having the ability to tenaciously update the rest of the team on progress, changes and issues incurred and have them resolved.

A stipend for interns is available.
