State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), the world's leading provider of financial services to institutional investors, today announced that it has expanded its presence in the Middle East and has opened a new office in Doha, Qatar.

DOHA • Qatar University (QU) will organise academic orientation sessions on September 1 and 2. QU Human Resources recruiting manager Seta Mekikjian said 77 new staff has already joined the university and an additional 19 are expected to join soon.

Doha • Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company yesterday signed a $1bn deal with Germany-based Deutsche Bahn for a multi-billion dollar national rail project that includes a high-speed rail link between Doha and Bahrain via a planned causeway.
